Nicholas Liles, MSW

Nicholas Liles holds a master’s degree in Social Work in the State of Colorado and is in the process of obtaining his License as a Clinical Social Worker.

His background includes degrees from Methodist University (North Carolina) and Newman University (Colorado). He has worked in the area of social work for over 20 years. Nicholas served as an assistant director and supervisor in a residential treatment setting. He has also served in the area of the Juvenile Justice System for SB94 (4 th Judicial District) as a case manager and provided in home counseling, reunification services and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for Haven Corporation.

He has been a school social worker since 2010 and served students in special education as well as general education. He has worked with students needing IEP/504 services, anger management, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, crisis assessments and academic supports. He has aided students with learning self-regulation techniques and coping skills. Nicholas has also coached high school and middle school football for over 15 years.

Nicholas believes that building a nonjudgmental relationship is imperative when working with his clients. He understands that all individuals are uniquely different and that there is not a “cookie-cutter” approach when working with young people. He believes that teaching his clients to empower themselves with a healthy thought process and behaviors are essential to their success.

Nicholas enjoys spending time with his wife, two children and the family dog. He enjoys traveling, coaching, and watching his kids be successful in their academics and extra-curricular activities. He also enjoys sports and the North Carolina Tar Heels.
