Deneil James, LCSW

Deniel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and military veteran with degrees from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Newman University (Colorado). She specializes in both individual and family therapy, and has experience providing trauma informed and responsive care within the school and community. Deneil assists clients in the process of accessing resources and systems that enable them to build “toolboxes” with strategies and mechanisms to cope with life’s challenges.

She has extensive experience working with children who have special needs, as well as their families. Other experience includes: academic support, assistance navigating 504 Plans and accommodations and the IEP process. Other areas of expertise include crisis response and management, assessments (including risk, threat, suicide, and behavior), developing Behavior Intervention Plans and Safety Plans.

Deneil takes a nonjudgmental and client-centered approach that empowers clients to become the best version of themselves. She uses modalities such as talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and Bowen Family Systems. She facilitates collaborative relationships to foster healthier, solution-focused mindsets.
