Chantel Smith, M.S., LPC-Supervisor

Chantel has a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Texas A&M at Commerce and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree is from the University of North Texas. She has worked in several inpatient hospitals, and those hospitals have allowed her the experience to counsel military soldiers, clients with suicidal thoughts or attempts, people struggling with chronic addiction issues, and people with psychosis and bizarre behaviors. Those experiences helped her develop and hone effective counseling techniques and become familiar with counseling people of all walks of life. She has specialized in trauma informed care and with those struggling with PTSD. Trauma could be anything from grief, loss of a marriage or loved one, or abuse or domestic violence.

She understands that life brings unexpected transitions. During these transitions people sometimes need someone to help facilitate change, someone to listen without judgment, or voice their thoughts in order to gain a fresh perspective. She believes the goal in counseling is to help those in crisis, navigate through grief, anger, confusion, and those who feel out of control gain control. Her therapy approach is eclectic. She uses Bowen Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and a humanistic approach to counseling. She enjoys working with both adolescents and adults.

Chantel Smith offers supervision virtually only at this time. Her supervision fee is $350 per month and she meets with her LPC Associates weekly.
